The late Allen Toussaint was a legendary figure of New Orleans R n B. As a producer, songwriter, arranger, and solo artist, he wore all these hats over the course of his lengthy and prolific career. The Chicago Blues Festival began in 1984 one year after the death of Muddy Waters.
