The unfailingly effective Sleep D returns with his this EP of 2017, and he's back on his own Butter Sessions with, as you'd expect, the same sort of diverse, jacked-up bass-house that brought him to our attention in the first place. Like all great producers, the man sticks to what he does best, and "Red Rock (IV mix)" mashes up various strains of deep, mystical 4/4 music to end up with a shade of house that is built for the Uber-late or Uber-deep sets. "Bunyip Beat" is similarly off-kilter, shifting and re-shaping its percussive drive amid dreamy sonic textures while, on the flip, "Sandman" pulsates its subtly acidic bass to a skeletal beat groove built for dancefloor conquering.
