(17/18) This new collection of tracks for the established Aus Music sees the producer's multifaceted sonic personailty explored even further as we touch on jubulent downbeats, sultry house music and tantalizing sound design. Opting for the more eyes-down, backroom sound, Tee Mango takes cues from past harnesses of the MPC, digging deep into dusty funk, soul and disco samples before re-collaging them together with additional elements of spoken word or synthesizer work. The result is a welcome and stimulating retrospective of dance music's finer nuances, filtered and re-presented by someone who's obviously spent as much time dancing to his record collection as he has listening to it.
